Abstract

The Law 5/2018, of June 11, of modification of the Law 1/2000, of January 7, of Civil Procedure, in relation to the illegal occupation of houses, constitutes one of the most decided remedies of the legislator to protect, through rapid procedural channels, the right of private property against the «squat» phenomenon, in an attempt to overcome the current saturation experienced by the Administration of Justice, while providing the competent public administrations with the implementation of programs of coordination aimed at providing housing to people and families at risk of residential exclusion, who have been the object of eviction.
