Abstract

We are facing a social movement that vindicates citizen's participation in the drafting of public policies. Lately, due to the economic crisis, this movement has taken to the streets vindicating the citizen's appropriation of politics instead of economic agents. Town planning is one of the first public areas in which legal mechanisms that allow the citizen's participation in public administration, were introduced even though these mechanisms have a limited efficiency. Adding the actual demands of the citizen's movement to the experience acquired in town planning, a question arises. Has the moment come for, these legal mechanisms of citizen's participation in city's and public spaces' organization, to be extended?
