Innovation contracting between universities and business in times of uncertainty

We are in the early days of the fourth industrial revolution, a revolution characterised by the simultaneous confluence of numerous exponential technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence and blockchain; emerging technologies, in short, that are changing everything as never before in the history of humanity.
On the other hand, we are living in difficult times, times of uncertainty as the covid-19 crisis has dealt a severe blow to our way of life.
Innovation must therefore be our response to change, to uncertainty. To this end, it is important that universities, deploying their knowledge transfer function, relate to the productive fabric –to companies– and that contractual relationships are established between the two to promote innovation, research and development.
