In the ruling discussed here, the beneficiary of an unemployment benefit for citizens over 55 inherits a fixed sum of money and communicates it to the Public Service for State Employment. The Supreme Court has stated that in such situations we must distinguish two possible cases. If the yields of the inheritance cover the legal limit for 12 months or more, the unemployment benefit should be extinguished. Otherwise, it should only be suspended. The sum of the inheritance should be divided according to the legal limit, the result being the number of months the suspension should last.
