Abstract

Youth unemployment in Spain remains very high (over 53 %) and the early school leaving rate is one of the highest in the European Union. Government is implementing labor and educative reforms in order to increment the labor-market relevance of vocational education institutions. The most important decision in order to this aim is extend the dual vocational training; in this article, we analyze the impact of recent policy reforms and the experiences in other countries (especially, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland) with a long history of vocational and educational training.
