The prevention of occupational hazards in self-employed workers is a field that still presents many legal shortcomings, which translates into legal uncertainty and insecurity in their work. Progress in this aspect is fundamental to improving the safety and health of self-employed workers.
On the basis of the legal mandate referred to in article 8 of the LETA and tax the Public Administrations, the object of this work is to show what actions carried out or planned by the Public Administrations to comply with paragraphs 1 and 2 of this article. Basically, these interventions consist of: promotional activities of prevention, technical advice, monitoring and control of compliance by self-employed workers of occupational risk prevention law, and advocacy training in occupational risk prevention, adapted to the needs of this group.
Likewise, raised some suggestions to take into account Public Administrations with a view to the optimization of resources and therefore, improve efficiency in their speeches for the benefit of the safety and health of self-employed workers.
