Abstract

Nowadays, work environments and organizations are involved in a process of changes. Several companies are trying to compete and survive by cutting costs and reducing the number of employees. However, there are alternative ways for organizations to compete and grow, such as the development of excellence. In this context, the psychological link of employees with their job has gained special relevance. Organizations need proactive employees, who are engaged at work and committed to high quality standards. This experience is known as work engagement. The aim of this study is to examine the consequences of daily engagement on employee’s daily well-being. Similarly, we also examine whether the positive effect of engagement is transmit- ted to the personal domain, increasing the partner's well-being. Finally, we study the impact of engagement over time, specifically on the level of performance during the next day.
