Abstract

The prevention service is the set of human resources and material resources to carry out preventive activities in order to ensure the adequate protection of the safety and health of workers, advising and assisting employers, workers and their representatives and specialized bodies representing this. Among its varied functions is the health surveillance of workers in relation to the risks arising from the work, which includes, inter alia and as main activity for the health surveillance, which through properly validated procedures is intended to detect systematic and regular symptoms and early signs of damage resulting from the work, to detect situations of risk, and to propose preventive measures; and, accordingly, such monitoring should be integrated in the planning of preventive activity of the company. The recent Royal Decree 843/2011, June 17, has been published with the specific object of establishing the technical requirements and the minimum requirements for health services from the services of occupational risk prevention for approval and for the maintenance of standards of quality in its operation; and in the same detailed health activities that can develop prevention services, as well as what are the human and material resources needed to do so properly.
