Serious concerns as to the viability of the retirement plan system is considered to be a major issue which draws the attention of institutions, social actors and society as a whole. The reforms implemented so as to reduce public spending have not solved problems related to its sustainability, but have added new challenges such as the loss of buying power of pensioners or doubts related to constitutional provisions such as adequacy and sufficiency. In the light of this, we draw our attention to external factors to the retirement plan system which are also very important such as labour reforms or promotion-of-employment plans so as to determine their influence upon the eventual sustainability of the public system.
