Abstract

In midsummer summer surprised us tougher measures that are remembered on Social Security, in particular those relating to unemployment protection in its various forms, which are shared between the Law 3/2012 of July 6 urgent measures to reform the labor market and especially the Royal Decree-Law 20/2012 of 13 July on measures to ensure fiscal stability and to promote competitiveness.

The large number of measures including it would be presumptuous to attempt a review of them all in a company statement; just look at the summary to realize that it is impossible.

However, it should be noted that almost all the news –especially those in the RDL 20/2012–, serve the dual purpose of increasing revenue and cost saving Social Security, without denying it, is justified various reasons of fairness, reasonableness, uniformity, solidarity..., expressly recognized in the preamble to the final rule said that «measures enhance the future viability of the protection system and contribute to meeting the objectives of budgetary stability».

Understanding the need for restrictive measures in public spending due to the serious crisis we find ourselves, the question that the reader should consider in the light of this analysis is how much will be effective in achieving the proposed objectives and above all, much longer can resist this enormous effort, in some cases-protected individuals demanded the Social Security system.
